Welcome to the new Ten Fifteen newsletter
Hello everyone,
You may be asking yourself: “what is this, did I sign up for this, is this spam?” I assure you this is not spam. This is the new face of my newsletter that I’ve been sending out intermittently over the past few years through Tiny Letter. If you’re receiving this newsletter in your inbox, this means that your email address was included in the Tiny Letter email list. It is still me and your email is safe, I just switched platforms.
What is this?
The title Ten Fifteen relates to Henry David Thoreau. These were the dimensions of the Walden Pond cabin, in feet. If you know me, then you probably know that I have a small ‘thing’ for cabins, for Thoreau and for cryptic information. In recent months/years, my work has expanded much more into the written word territory. I started writing for LUM Art Zine and my essays have been randomly appearing on sites like 3:AM Magazine and Philosophical Salon. For years I’ve been blogging at The Gutter Art Critic, which I have decided to abandon and leave to be settled by the dust of the internet. Ten Fifteen is going to be a synthesis of all these different mediums. It will be a place where I will publish original writing, republish articles and essays from other platforms, and send updates about exhibitions and my art practice.
What you’ll get
My writing directly into your inbox on a fairly consistent basis, about every week or two, sometimes more than once a week, depending on what is going on. These will consist of art reviews, think pieces, random banter about my work and the work of other artists, interviews, critical theory, some jokes, but the thread running through them all will be art, in one form or another. If you enjoy the content, great! Thank you for reading and your interest. I would like to stay in touch with you. And if you could share this newsletter with friends, I’d really appreciate it. It gives me a chance to expand my reach and to bring more people into the conversation, but also lets me know that what I do is having some sort of an impact in the world at large. If you don’t like this content, it is easy to unsubscribe and I won’t get offended. But I do hope that you will stay.
With gratitude!
